A Valentine’s Day to Remember: The Musket Room

AR51724We’re thinking that there’s no better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day—or the end of Fashion Week (and the Fashion Week diet)—than with an evening at The Musket Room. On February 14, chef Matt Lambert is offering six- and ten-course tasting menus at the restaurant in Nolita, with items such as Uni Custard with Squid Ink and Caviar, Lobster Tortellini with Sauce Américaine and Herbs, and Foie Gras Torchon with Upstate Maple and Apple.

The Alexander Waterworth Interiors-designed space is, perhaps, as much of a treat as the fare at The Musket Room, featuring a 20-foot walnut bar and views of the garden in the back of the restaurant. Other elements include lime-washed exposed brick and mid-century brass chandeliers.

Broccoli soup and oxtail croquette.

Uni custard, squid ink and caviar.

Lobster tortellini, Sauce Américaine and herbs.

Mushroom custard, pickled mushrooms and perigord truffle.

Foie torchon, upstate maple and apple.

Quail, bread sauce, pickled blackberries and roasted onions.

New Zealand red deer with flavors of gin. or Grouper, Brussel leaves, parmesan broth and pickled mussel.

Kikorangi blue cheese, apple rosemary jam and poppy seed sourdough.

Pumpkin pie donut.

Passionfruit pavlova, strawberries and cream. or Chocolate torte, mint ice cream and mascarpone.

Cauliflower soup, curry and caviar.

Mushroom custard, pickled mushrooms and perigord truffle.

Quail, bread sauce, pickled blackberries and roasted onions.

New Zealand red deer with flavors of gin. or  Grouper, brussel leaves, parmesan broth and pickled mussel.

Pumpkin pie donut.

Chocolate torte, caramel ice cream and sour cream. or Passionfruit pavlova, strawberries and cream.
