This past Wednesday, the 33rd Annual DreamBall at Cipriani, 42nd Street benefiting the Look Good Feel Better organization brought together notables from the beauty, fashion, and publishing industries to raise funds for women undergoing cancer treatment. The proceeds went directly towards helping them to regain their appearance and self-confidence, and, most importantly, to focus their energy on becoming a cancer survivor. Bluemercury co-founders Barry and Marla Beck were honored in a presentation by Leonard Lauder for their ongoing efforts and support of the program, as well as Don Loftus of Parlux.
For nearly three decades, Look Good Feel Better has been dedicated to helping people with cancer cope with the appearance side effects of their treatment. Since 1989, the program has empowered nearly one million women in the United States to reclaim the sense of control, confidence and self-esteem that are so central to well-being. Look Good Feel Better includes lessons on skin and nail care, cosmetics, wigs and turbans, accessories and styling, as well as helping people with cancer find normalcy in a life that is by no means normal.
The DreamBall was immediately followed by DreamBall After Dark, a special after-hours event aimed at engaging the next generation of philanthropic leaders within (and beyond) the beauty industry in support of the Look Good Feel Better program. There guests enjoyed cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and music by Isaac Likes Jenny.
The magical evening raised a total of $1,226,460. For more information on Look Good Feel Better, visit lookgoodfeelbetter.org.
