American Ballet Theatre—one of New York City’s greatest cultural institutions, not to mention America’s National Ballet Company, by an act of Congress—is celebrating a milestone achievement this spring: its 75th anniversary. As part of the season-long celebrations to commemorate the anniversary and the contributions the company has made to the history of dance, ABT is offering for sale a special souvenir book, which features historic photography of the company’s extensive repertory from the 1940s to the present day. The book also features specially commissioned full-color portrait photography of ABT’s current principal dancers, soloists, and corps de ballet members by famed Italian fashion photographer Fabrizio Ferri. The keepsake 64-page book includes articles by noted dance writers Peter Webster, Hanna Rubin, and Joseph Carman, and is available ($29 per copy) at ABT’s spring season performances at the Metropolitan Opera House, which began earlier this month and continue through July 4.
