The Hayward and Hopper installation and window display is now open at Bergdorf Goodman on Fifth Avenue and 58th Street. The pop-up shop will be open through March 26.
Hayward and Hopper are American luxury fashion brands inspired by Marin Hopper’s family of creative artists and movie stars. Hayward is a handbag collection, and Hopper is a unisex clothing and accessories collection.
This is the first time the Hayward and Hopper brands will come together as one. The collaborative pop-up show will feature jewelry, handbags, furniture, books, and art that embody the best parts of East Coast sophistication and West Coast ease. Many of these items will be available for purchase. “My goal has always been to share a uniquely American version of the world, and this installation has provided a terrific opportunity to do just that,” says Marin Hopper.
The installation includes furniture designed by Frank Gehry, Samuel Marx, and John Vesey. It also features photographs by Dennis Hopper and oil paintings and drawings by Claudia Munro Kerr. Signature handbags, embroidered t-shirts, sunglasses, vintage books and fine jewelry are displayed throughout the shop. There is also a music bar featuring vintage records from Dennis Hopper’s collection.
A digital collage that combines pop art and black and white photography is on display throughout the shop. This artwork is inspired by the design of Marin Hopper’s childhood home in Los Angeles.
“When a designer actually lives the life that they design for, as Marin does, the results have an authenticity and naturalism which are inimitable… Marin’s extraordinary life and experiences show up in everything she touches.”—Linda Fargo, Bergdorf Goodman Fashion Director
