Ever the innovator, Christie’s has organized the first online-only sale. From Tuesday, February 26 through Tuesday, March 5, collectors will be logging in to bid online for 125 pieces by Andy Warhol. Paintings, drawings, photographs, and prints spanning the King of Pop Art’s career will be priced from an estimated $600 to $70,000, and offers unprecedented access to both seasoned collectors and first-time buyers. The auction will be timed, and bidders will receive electronic updates by email or phone if someone outbids them, lending the same thrill of an in-person auction to the process.
This is the first time the auction house has offered an online-only sale of Post War and Contemporary art, and is part of an exciting partnership with The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. The proceeds will go to the Foundation’s grant-making programs.
Own a piece of art world history, support a foundation, and participate in a revolutionary new way to bid, all in one occasion!
