This past Saturday, God’s Love We Deliver hosted its 17th Annual Midsummer Night Drinks event at the Southampton home of Calvin Klein. With nearly 300 guests in attendance, the event—sponsored by Calvin Klein, Cadillac, and Tito’s Handmade Vodka—raised $500,000 through ticket sales and a live auction. The proceeds directly support the improvement of the health and well-being of men, women, and children living with severe illness.
Guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and a raw bar by Canard, along with signature cocktails throughout the night. Attendees were also served miniature dishes straight from the God’s Love Cookbook, including Jennifer Hudson’s feta-stuffed chicken burgers, David Burtka’s grilled ribeye skewers, and Blaine Trump’s carrot cake. During the live auction, guests bid on God’s Love program items such as meals for for a person living with HIV/AIDS, or meals for a mother living with breast cancer and her children for six months. Guests left the event with brownies baked by Chuck the Baker, who has been with God’s Love for more than 26 years—the perfect way to end the special evening.
“Midsummer Night Drinks is always a special night for God’s Love,” said David Ludwigson, vice president and chief development officer at God’s Love We Deliver. “It is a wonderful way for us to say thank you to our supporters while enjoying a lovely evening at the home of a special friend. We could not be more grateful to Calvin Klein for hosting the event and welcoming us to his home and to our guests for supporting our work. With the generosity of so many, we can always be there for all those in the New York City metropolitan area who are too sick to shop or cook for themselves.”
