Midtown is Happening, Thanks to David Burke Group

Spyglass Facing Out

Midtown is more happening, thanks to David Burke Group and the introduction of their “it” spots at the Archer Hotel (47 West 38th Street): DAVID BURKE fabrick and Spyglass Rooftop Bar.

Main Dining Room Back RoomThe name of DAVID BURKE fabrick is derived from “faber,” which translates from Latin to mean “artisan”—a word exemplified by the fare of the restaurant as well as its décor. The 84-seat space offers a menu that boasts a variety of options for vegetarians, including “Asparagus and Wild Mushroom Pappardelle,” “Avocado Panna Cotta,” and “Roasted Cauliflower Steak,” in supplement to plates such as “Candied Bacon,” “Grilled Octo Tacos,” and “Skin and Bones” (chicken dumplings, skin, and chicken-liver crackers).

Helmed by chef Adin Langille, the restaurant succeeds at dishes that are as inventive as they are delicious.

Spyglass Bar 2Spyglass Rooftop Bar, located in at the penthouse of the hotel, serves cocktails that are as delightful as the views (which look at the Empire State Building). Order the First Crush (cognac, green chartreuse, Campari, and sweet vermouth) or the You Look Smashing (bourbon, mint, blueberry, and lemon) while watching the sunset for a spectacular first—or twenty-first—date.
