Rebecca Taylor is likeable low-key. And in her spring 2015 collection, two things really stand out for me. The first: a blazer in a neutral blush color with little lace insets. The other? A cropped culotte jumpsuit, her clever way of reviving a short-lived trend. But for all its appeal, the collection holds back most when you want it to push a little. The edge is gone. Has her girl gone soft? Taylor’s got the downtown fan base. So what’s with the ultra-feminine appliqués and paisley-printed chiffons? Maybe that’s what’s selling. Or perhaps she’s simply ditched the grit for the girly.
