Ships Ahoy: Assouline’s Beken Of Cowes

Now available for preorder is Assouline‘s forthcoming “Beken of Cowes: The Art Of Sailing,” an incredible collection of maritime photography. Here’s Assouline on this fantastic collection perfect for any sailing buff:

Alfred Edward Beken, originally from Canterbury in Kent, moved to the Isle of Wight in 1888 with his son Frank and purchased a pharmacy situated in the small port of Cowes, famous for its International Sailing Regatta. The sight of yachts sailing past his bedroom window made such an impression on Frank that he decided to capture the images on film. This entire photographic collection of the finest sailboats is breathtaking and astounding.

Celebrating the very best in yachting as captured by the legendary Beken family over the past century, Beken of Cowes features the world’s most beautiful photographs of sailboats, presented for the first time in a luxury hand-bound limited-edition with hand-tipped images in a linen clamshell case as part of Assouline’s Ultimate Collection.
