Tea-ing Up with Geoffrey Zakarian at The Palm Court at The Plaza

The Palm Court at The Plaza reopened on October 23 under the direction of chef Geoffrey Zakarian, who is reestablishing the parlor at the heart of the scene in New York.

The menu is extensive and boasts a breakfast for champions, but the highlight is the tea. From sandwiches and savories to scones to pastries and sweets, a meal at The Palm Court at The Plaza is a must. The Peekytoe Crab Salad with Green Apple, Cucumber, Black-Truffle Oil, Grain-Mustard Aioli, and Pretzel Crostini is not to be missed—nor is the Foie Gras Torchon with Sweet-and-Sour Shallots, Cracked Hazelnuts, Fig Jam, and Toasted Brioche. And don’t forget to try the teas: 25 loose-leaf Palais de Thés selections, including eight Grand Cru selections.

Our thoughts? Sweeten an afternoon of skating at Wollman Rink in Central Park with a pot of peppermint tea and a salted-caramel ganache tart. (Maybe a glass of Moët & Chandon Brut Impérial Rosé…) Be sure to say, “Hello!” to Eloise for us!
