This Monday morning, I had a pleasant stroll enjoying the crisp breeze, which can only suggest one thing: autumn. After long and scorching summer days, this dose of coolness signals at once back-to-school season and serves as a reminder for the coming days of much anticipated sweater weather–and scarves (!)
So, once I got to Quest headquarters, I immediately sifted through our book collection in search of a title that would help convey my excitement for fall.
“Scarves” (Thames& Hudson, 2011) by Nicky Albrechtsen and Fola Solanke is it! As noted in the book, “scarves are works of art in their own right,” from the “Grace Kelly” arranged over the head to the long, narrow scarves inspired by Bonnie & Clyde (1967). Now, many scarves are heavily nostalgic pieces that have been passed from generation to generation.
From Balenciaga, Mary Quant, Christina Lacroix, Yves Saint Laurent, Gucci and many more international designers, “Scarves” showcases it all.
