A London mainstay for the past decade, The Connaught Bar in Mayfair decided to commemorate its 10th anniversary with a gin of its very own. Blended and bottled in house, the spirit is the brainchild of mixologist Agostina Perrone and combines traditional gin methods with a character all of its own.
An established classic London gin recipe forms the foundation of The Connaught Bar Gin blend—combining hand-crushed juniper berries, coriander seeds, licorice, angelica root, and orris root. Unique botanicals including the famous Amalfi lemon, renowned for its sweet flavor and served with The Connaught Bar’s celebrated martini, and red wine from the vineyards of Bordeaux, separate the final result from the rest.
“The Connaught Bar Gin has truly been a labor of love and an unforgettable experience,” notes Perrone. “When we first sat down to discuss producing a one-of-a-kind spirit, our main effort was to put together all the essences that we believe encapsulates the bar to create an exceptional gin. Reminiscent of a 1920s cocktail shaker, the glass bottle design takes inspiration from the glamorous cubist interiors of The Connaught Bar and is ready to be enjoyed shaken or stirred, straight up or on the rocks.
