On May 1, seven women were named honorees of the T.J. Martell Foundation for leukemia, cancer, and AIDS research at the Women of Influence Awards and Luncheon. The Women of Influence Awards and Luncheon strives to bring together influential women to celebrate their achievements while also raising awareness of breast cancer, prevention, and healthy living. Ultimately the event works to raise funds for the T.J. Martell Foundation’s breast cancer and ovarian cancer research programs.
This year honorees included radio personality Delilah, Dr. Jimmie C. Holland, M.D. Natalie Morales, news anchor Latonya Crisp-Sauray, Elaine Turner, JuE Wong, and executive vice president and chief financial officer of SESAC Kelli Turner. The Women of Influence Awards and Luncheon brought together a remarkably diverse group of women in various professional industries to celebrate their achievements and their inspirational influence around the world. Each distinguished honoree was celebrated for achieving her dreams while also maintaining different aspects of daily life including work, family, home, and health.
The Women of Influence Awards and Luncheon took place at Guastavino’s, a New York City landmark under the 59th Street Bridge. The event, hosted by radio host and actress Robin Quivers, was preceded by a reception and silent auction before the awards and luncheon began later that afternoon. The event was tremendously successful in bringing together the honorees as well as a community of women to open and maintain a dialogue to raise breast cancer awareness.
