Last night, in the balmy July evening air, 1,400 twenty- and thirty-somethings flitted up the sweeping stone stairs of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The museum played host to the Young Members Party, held annually with the aim of exposing the next generation to the many treasures the Met is home to.
The evening’s entertainment featured a performance by the New York City-based electronic duo The Knocks, who rocketed to fame this past year. After working up an appetite dancing, guests wined and dined at a reception held in the Great Hall.
In addition to sipping rooftop cocktails, guests enjoyed viewings of two recently opened exhibitions, Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations and Tomas Saraceno on the Roof: Cloud City. If last night was any indication, the young members of the Met are among their most passionate.
